By Asra Ahmed

Not only is a Mother’s Day a time to celebrate and thank all the wonderful moms in your life but it’s also a great excuse to host and style a beautiful spring brunch. With the spring season, there is no shortage of color inspiration. This is the perfect holiday to showcase all your entertaining skills with a gorgeous floral tea party. Here’s how to easily plan a beautiful mother’s day brunch.

PICK A THEME

Decide a time first, and whether you are planning a breakfast, brunch or a tea party. Then pick a color scheme and theme for your tableware and decorations.

Last year, I decided to throw a Mother’s Day Tea Party for my beautiful mama and my gorgeous mommy friends. The colors I picked were mint and pink, accented with spring flowers.

CHOOSE A LOCATION AND DECORATE

Next, decide where to hold your Mother’s Day afternoon Tea Party. This is a lovely thing to do at home and if you are lucky with the weather, you could even arrange it in your backyard. I got lucky with this!

DECIDE ON THE MENU
Once you have chosen a couple of cute decorations, it’s time to decide what to serve at your Mother’s Day afternoon Tea.

Keep your tea party food simple and traditional or go all out with finger sandwiches with a variety of fillings, homemade cakes, fresh fruits and a chocolate fondue.

There’s nothing more delicious than homemade scones, fresh from the oven, served with variety of fruit jams and clotted cream. You could even accompany your tea sandwiches and cakes with macarons for an extra special touch. Because macarons are ALWAYS a good idea!

FINALLY… SURPRISE YOUR MOM WITH A LOVELY HOMEMADE GIFT

Mother’s day doesn’t need to cost a fortune - it’s definitely the  thought that counts. You could paint a cute pot and put her favorite flower/plant in it. You can run some errands or do different chores around the house while she sits back and relax and put her feet up. You can bake her a cake or cook her favorite meal.

Love and appreciate your mother and your motherhood. A mother is a blessing that no one can replace.

Here are some other gorgeous floral mother’s day tea parties for inspiration that you could easily still pull together for this Sunday!
