Put the Petal to the Metal!
Well, it's officially the first day of spring. AND it's Friday. How's that for some weekend inspiration? Although we're all still wearing our puffy coats in NYC and strolling our tots around in their bundle-me's and plastic stroller covers, it is technically no. longer. winter.
I'm pretty sure I'm about to switch to flats and a jean jacket, and I really don't care if I lose an extremity due to frostbite. I'm ready to shove my dark, sad winter wardrobe into the upper depths of my closet, never to be found again. Seriously.
This has been the worst winter weather I can remember for a long, long time. And I'm from Boston. That's no joke. And as done as we all are with the freezing temps, the icy roads, and the mountain-piles of snow, the good news is that they are soon to be done with us as well.
I am beyond excited to embrace any sort of vegetation attempting to poke through that perma-frozen soil. I'm ready to see some blooms and blossoms. I can't wait to wear pastels, whites and brights. And of course, this means sprucing up le petit a.p.t. with some fresh flower arrangements, spring cleaning projects and maybe some bold new accessories.
I'm also totally embracing this floral trend. It doesn't scare me in the least to add some flora into our decor (and my wardrobe!). I'm hoping by doing so, I'll lure that spring sunshine in. Remember - just because you've got some of granny's floral chintz hand-me-downs in your home doesn't mean you're a granny. What's old is new, and floral can be cool, classic and happy.Yes- even a big dose of floral can chic up a small shack.
So hurry up and get here, la primavera. Let's bloom (and zoom!) into spring... as fast as humanly possible.
